As a kid, I was a self-proclaimed "band geek" who wanted nothing to do with physical fitness. I'm still that band geek today, but in my mid-twenties I realized I needed to make a change to set my adult life up for success in a healthy way. I needed every modification to get through the CrossFit workouts when I first started out, but I trusted the process and worked diligently on learning how to move my body safely to start my lifelong fitness journey. I believe my diligence for starting out small and working through modifying movements with my coaches over many years is what makes me a great coach today.
I walked into CrossFit 845 in 2012 having never consistently exercised before, let alone been an athlete. I knew I needed to make a dramatic change to live a healthy life as I became older. I did one workout with Dave and was instantly hooked (and pretty sore!) I quickly saw how CrossFit can be adapted to all abilities and knew I was making a great investment into my future health. I felt confident putting my trust in the excellent coaching staff to safely progress as an athlete. Not only have I become a healthier version of myself, but I have fun competing with myself over the years to do better each day. The incredible community that thrives at CrossFit 845 and the challenge to better my fitness has kept me coming back. I love that as a coach I can now help others find their fitness.
Teaching is my passion, and leading large group classes excites me. I also especially love working with newer athletes. Seeing their excitement when they make progress with new movements or achieve their health and wellness goals over time motivates me to be better as a coach each day.
